Bulbs recovered from one of our outlying garden beds. Dahlia, elephant ear, and "triffids". Probably the last day for drying outside as it's dropping into the mid twenties tonight.

One coat of stain applied. Its 72°F here and sunny in November. Very unusual. Tomorrow I'll brush a coat of polyurethane on this. After it dries.... into a garden bed.

Beaut of a day here in the Miami Valley! Built a gourd/pumpkin stand for next year's attempt. All scrap wood and aluminium. Cleared out a bit of the shed! Ill stan the wood and put a coat or two of polyurethane on it tomorrow.

This year's bird house gourd vine was not a success. Next season we'll plant in a different location. After the two actual gourds dry and color up I'll polyurethane them and put them on a bookshelf.

Prepping for the first heavy frost. I found this Milkweed pod branch, still standing behind a Blue Spruce. I'll save the seeds for our habitat gardens.

My passion again and my working life. This shows a really good description of growing, and the life cycle of a major and very old plant group. Just one error in it though, the presenter says that the young plants are, single cells, they are not. What...

I just distributed a whole trailer load of mulch and feel so virtuous, he,he. Tomorrow I shall go and get another, and hopefully that will be enough for this time.

My passion in the garden is for ferns, or pteridophytes. Which for those who don't know them, are an old group of early land plants, which do not flower or set seed but reproduce by sporing. However despite the lack of flowers, the range of foliage ...

Two more "planted". We've found these are not really good birdbath stands for our location. Either lsrge birds tip the saucer off or squirrels. We'll see how they do as planters.

Concrete Alan has been re-located from a strawberry bed to this stump in our Spring bulb bed. We hope he has the same effect here as he did with the strawberries.
