I made a grow bag from some landscaping fabric and a few twist ties, just make a tube of the landscaping fabric by sewing a seam and then use a couple of zip ties to seal one end. Turn it inside out and fill with potting soil, then roll down the top end to suit. I sewed it length wise so it holds about 2.5 gallons of potting soil but if I had sewn it width wise I should be able to make a 8 to 10 gallon pot with the landscaping fabric.
Pretty neat. All I have is black landscaping fabric which might be good to warm some roots of certain plants.
The ones from the store are black landscaping fabric, I just happened to have white.
Very clever
I had planned to sew the whole thing and then I consulted the geniuses on YouTube - le voila! I had a big box of zip ties in the garage, so the bag cost me about 5 cents to make - they go for around $3 on Amazon.
