I couldn’t let the frost kill the basil in my mother’s garden, so I cut the plants and have them in water. I think I need to make pesto, and lots of it, right away. Sorry about the sideways pic.

Get rid of the flowers and stocks, make pesto and freeze it in ice cube trays, that way you have portions that are easy to use.

I just planted some basil about 3 weeks ago. They are coming up nicely and growing well. My gardening references say we can plant Basil this late in Texas and get a decent return in late Oct early Nov.

Looking at the picture makes me wonder if it's sideways because it won't fit vertically?

Ah, the scent of basil. I once named a cat Basil. He did not smell as sweet. =0}

I just got a new client, his name is wonton.
But I believe we do have a cat named Basil as well.
