Just posted my first signs of spring here in the UK, in Nature and thought they would go well here. I found these violets in a roadside hedge bottom and not ten feet away another clump of white ones, primroses in a field, and the first of the ferns, Cystopteris, the Brittle Bladder Fern. It is a high alpine often found in rock crevices high in the mountains, so perhaps it is not put off by cold. And I just loved this Pulmonaria and Daffs combination , in the next village.

The Aconites have finished with us now, we are probably about three weeks ahead of you.
we have crocuses coming up the daffs are not far behind. 
So beautiful and hopeful. I have patches of snowdrops blooming, but nothing else. Soon, very soon.
