Wow, what great nest builders and nest architects those birds are.
A whole lot different to our Aussie Wood-pigeons or our Emus.
The 'Woodies' manage (???) to build their nest from about 6-8 twigs and few bits of grass only and when they're finished (???) it looks like something that a gust of wind has blown up into the branches.
As for the Emus, they would NEVER win awards for Architectural Design, their nest is just an indentation in the loose soil about 2-3 feet in diameter with nothing lining it at all.
Well, you've certainly made the right decision!

Robins are tougher than an old boot, gradually move the nest to a new location that isn't subject to predation by predators. Win Win
That nest is a work of art itself. Perhaps when it's done you can apply a thin-set clay solution to it to make a bowl?
