I planted a bunch of grass seed before all the rainstorms and already the bare spots are showing bright green...

In our tropical climate, peppers are abundant this time of year. I have several varieties of chillis growing, from capsicum to Thai birds eye..
I am chasing Caroline Reaper chilli seeds so that I can make a hot hot sauce. and a chutney.
People grow them locally in abundance but do not use the fruit which to me seems a waste.

I used to spend hours with seed and plant catalogs, they were full color, like flower pornography. My favorite, though it came in summer, was the catalog from Dutch Gardens (at the Keukenhof) for tulip bulbs. Now my daughter has moved to the Netherlands, and I'm hoping to visit the Keukenhof once again. I visited when she was a baby and we were stationed in Germany 30+ years ago.

When can you plant in the ground up there?

Usually on Memorial Day weekend at the end of May

Every season is perfect in gardening There are plants for every season and climatic conditions. The gardener admires the present seasons bounty while preparing for the next season. Every season brings it's own joys.
