What saddens me is that local bee farmers set up markets on the corner and charge far more for their honey than the alleged "processed" honey that's on the supermarket shelves.

The science says sugar is sugar, and honey is honey.

There's very little difference between sugar and honey...

and even less difference between the "processed and filtered" honey and the "raw" honey that the locals sell...

I'm sad that the locals didn't "win" the contract for the supermarket sales...but for nutrition's sake...

I'm glad I can buy both honey and sugar at the local "supermarket" and not buy it on the street corner.

It takes a lot of time and effort to process honey. When it is done in factories it is not as time consuming as a single person does it. A lot of honey you buy in the supermarkets have sugar added to it but you do not have a clue about it either. No I do not agree with you that there is very little difference between sugar and honey.

@Jolanta As a scientist I stand by what I said...but many concur that the difference between sugar and honey is significant.

Sorry...I don't.

@Robecology Thank you for all the information. Now I will have to avoid honey too. Life is a bitch sometimes.

@Jolanta I don't suggest "avoiding" it...I just won't go crazy using it...nor sugar...very much.

If you plant it, they will come…

That should be happening all over the world.
