Its the time for one of my favourite flowers, Primula florindae, the giant cowslip to flower. The cinnamon scent fills the garden on warm days.

I love cinnamon but I thought you Brits were adverse to spices? If a recipe calls for garlic or cinnamon, I’m going to double the amount.

I ordered a bread pudding in London and it came out tasting like paste. I asked waitress if they had some cinnamon I could sprinkle on it. The cook himself came out and started berating me. He said they don’t have any cinnamon, bread pudding doesn’t have spices and how dare I ask for it. I tried to be decent explaining how I am heavy spice user but he descended into American insults.

Why do Brit men always try me? I said he’ll either back off or be wearing pudding and he can take it off my bill because this American doesn’t pay good money for tasteless slop.

Pretty plant, btw. I’d be in heaven with that smell. Mmmmm!

Lovely to see from our Antipodean winter huddled under the doona with the electric blanket on.

Thanks, this is one I was not familiar with.

It likes a moist spot if it can get it, but is not generally fussy. Grows to about two feet six.

Same here!
