Toads are on the species at risk list here, seems our prairie toads are just as susceptible to the carrier agent in "Round-Up" as our leopard frogs are. I haven't seen one in ten years.
What kind of toad is he? He's almost a perfect match for a garden stone.
Not sure the type. Just our common garden toad. He's the first I've found with this amazing camo. Probably why I've never noticed them before!
@bigpawbullets My garden is full of leopard frogs which are a bright green with black leopard patterned spots. I keep the garden moist and I let it run wild a bit with only the larger weeds getting trimmed down with the weedwhacker and it gives them enough habitat to live and eat bugs and slugs.
@Surfpirate
Sounds like we're from the same tribe. We let our gardens and borders go a bit wild too. We like the plants and the creatures the plants attract. From insects to mammals.. they're great fun to watch. Much better than the national news!!
