Got some new plants for the food forest
As you say, Don - "when the price is right and it dies you do not get uptight" but those looked like very healthy trees.
I used to stop at the side of the road and eat my fill of locquat when I lived in Bermuda, everybody did when it was in season. Any fruit hanging over a fence was free for the picking, island rules.
Pawpaws grew like weeds so nobody cared about them, take them anytime.
I am sure I do not know what a loquat is, but I am sure, it ios too cold here for them. Your food forest sounds just wonderfull
Loquat is hardy in zone 7 to 10
@Donto101 Zone 5 B over here. But with global warming marching on, we should be at Zone 7 any day now!
Don't know what you are missing. Delightful fruit.
@Donto101 i just looked them up. I do know them, have eaten them. Theywere being sold at the Rochester Public market, together with cactus fruit, another exotic favorite.
@Spinliesel you should try dragon fruit. It’s a cactus fruit too. We like it in fruit salad. It not great on its own but really good in salad
@Donto101 Thatks for the tip. I see it at the grocery store.
