I just saw my first butterfly laying eggs on my passion vine. She kept moving so I got a picture when she landed to rest.

gulf fritillary they winter over in my yard, side of my house, bushes, they love the passion vine for a host and nectar plant. My vines started leafing out last week, the butterflies started leaving their chrsalises a few days ago and now we begin the circle of life all over again. As long as Dallas doesn't spray for West Nile, it should be a banner year.

Wow, right place & time, what a treat!

This is just one window, all these were full a few days ago. 12 empty, one ready to go.
