In the Virgin Islands we've had a very dry year so far, but this area adjacent to my house is shady, I call it the rain-garden, it catches run-off from several angles, and it gets the water from my shower. The heliconia is a giant kind, I can reach some of the 24" tall flowers but the leaves go up 18' or more. There's an avocado tree and the small sour-orange that the staghorn grows on, as well as the vanilla orchid, the pods are getting even bigger. We're almost overwhelmed by passionfruits at the moment.
Wow, I'm astounded at your beautiful garden, and your bounty!!!
