I saw this in the next village, some very neat stylish hedge cutting, obviously a work of passion, And not quite as twee as some topiary you see.

I had one leg of the ladder sink into the ground last time I pruned them. Pulled a branch off and grabbed a hand full of leaves off the shrub before hitting the ground. At least they slowed me down. It was like a slow motion fall. No damage other than to the bushes.
An art form that has to be continually maintained. Still great.
