Perhaps you might plant something that loves intermitant water accumulation. Instead of draining an ephemeral a water loving plant would requirw less work & habitat for pollinators & butter flies. Joe Pye Weed is one. Another is Queen of the Prairie. Iron Weed also Swamp milkweed.
There will be plenty land for that. There is no way I can drain it all. I’m just trying to control it. That is why I am building mounds and ponds that will slowly drain. I’m growing a food forest and most of what I wand won’t grow with soggy feet. But I will be growing rice and water chestnuts that do.
I heard about planting potatoes in tires. I am almost tempted, but then I think of the muckland farmers around me who grow beautiful potatoes and sell them for very little money. Maybe I'll set up one tire tower for carrots and leeks. I ave rally good , all terrain tires from my CR-V. They would finally be put to good use.
Great photos. It looks lovely where you live. It looks like a pond, but that's the rain?
Yes it Accumulates on my property then slowly drains back to swap a couple properties behind me. That’s why am working on the drainage ditches and digging a pon accumulates on my property then slowly drains back to swap a couple properties behind me. That’s why am working on the drainage ditches and digging 2 small ponds.
