We've had such a slow season this year that my day and easter lilies hadn't bloomed yet, so it was a nice surprise to get home from a trip to find them all perky along my alley. Such a simple thing that really makes me happy. :-)

Looks like I've gathered up the necessary stuff to construct that "bee hotel". Old cedar split rail fence posts cut to length for the "hotel" part. And my neighbor gifted me with some treated 2x6 scraps from his last job.

Hosta with Co-Ax This hosta is very happy on the north side of the house, right where the co-ax cable of my radio antenna runs. I think the hosta is called Fried Green Tomato, but I may be wrong. Too many hostas.

One of my weigelas is blooming! This one was in the shade until recently, it's a bit leggy, but should fill out with the tree gone. Variegated leaves and lovely colored blooms.

I used my excess fresh peppermint to make fresh ginger/peppermint green tea yesterday. I brewed green tea hot in my coffee maker...and then let it steep with the bags, crushed fresh peppermint, and shredded fresh ginger root for 4 hours as it cooled ...
