My passion again and my working life. This shows a really good description of growing, and the life cycle of a major and very old plant group. Just one error in it though, the presenter says that the young plants are, single cells, they are not. What...

Prepping for the first heavy frost. I found this Milkweed pod branch, still standing behind a Blue Spruce. I'll save the seeds for our habitat gardens.

Milkweed pods! The "Outer Limits" episode: So. I, in a moment of Chardonnay infused insanity, decide that the best way to store these seeds is to pop open a pod and place those cute seeds in a medicine bottle. Bad move. Me, the cats, and ceiling ...

This year's bird house gourd vine was not a success. Next season we'll plant in a different location. After the two actual gourds dry and color up I'll polyurethane them and put them on a bookshelf.

Beaut of a day here in the Miami Valley! Built a gourd/pumpkin stand for next year's attempt. All scrap wood and aluminium. Cleared out a bit of the shed! Ill stan the wood and put a coat or two of polyurethane on it tomorrow.

A few pics from my November (7th) garden. I love this time of year in the Deep South. The flowers can bloom bigger in the cooler temps. Three roses: Winter Sun, Dick Clark (bicolor), Belinda's Dream. Also an orange dalia seedling, a spray of ...

One coat of stain applied. Its 72°F here and sunny in November. Very unusual. Tomorrow I'll brush a coat of polyurethane on this. After it dries.... into a garden bed.

Bulbs recovered from one of our outlying garden beds. Dahlia, elephant ear, and "triffids". Probably the last day for drying outside as it's dropping into the mid twenties tonight.

We've 3 bathrooms in our house. Mine, Linda's & ours. This is the current status of the bathtub in mine. Keeping the door closed eliminates "cat gardening".

Apologies. I plan to be slightly obnoxious with excessive posts of my garden blooms. Something about the added size of roses in particular, now that our scorching summer sauna heat is past. This morning I spotted this beauty. A six+ inch bloom of...

Oh Wow! Garden Geeks, listen up. This You tube gardening clip is one of the most inspiring gardening stories I've ever heard. If you haven't seen it already, find yourself a half hour to watch this. Even better on a large tv.

For those who are growing/have Coleus plants, these are mine after their winter pruning/trim back. They seem to be growing much stronger, healthier and bigger since getting a 'hair cut.'
