Found on my mid-day walk today. Part of a small wildflower patch my town planted near a lake in my neighborhood. Nearly 100 degrees, dry and they're thriving.

Sometimes you just get happy accidents. I never thought about it when I planted the climbing rose but having the silver willow behind, seems to set it off very well, to my mind at least.

Little fuzzy butts working hard. Nice crop of lavender, the oil is best after they've moved on and the blossoms are drier. I still have three pints of oil from last year but it seems a shame to waste it. Still have some blackberries in my freezer ...
