Sometimes I think that it is a good idea to make a splash in your garden by putting all your eggs in one basket, like this garden filled with lavender, I saw in Derbyshire yesterday. Or sometimes Primula, Inula, and Campanula make a blend ?

The local fauna are better gardeners than I am. Every year, this small corner of our yard grows like this. Sunflowers, hyacinth vine, tomato plant. All obvious annuals and never planted by me.

Ive mentioned before that I cannot bring myself to discard plants I start from seed. This year we ran out of garden beds. So I tried putting various tomatoes, peppers, basil, and other assorted herbs in pots. Some are doing ok... some not. Always...

Question for the experts here on lilies. I planted hybrid lilies under this tree years ago. This year, they produced "native" lily blooms. Do hybrids return to a natural lily state after a few years? Or was this from cross pollination?
