Had Hurricane Irma (Cat 4) hit my island in 2017. This was my backyard three days later. Been a slow recovery. Took a year to just remove the dead trees etc. to begin over again.

These are not my garden but the parking lot of the nearby St Georges Village Botanical Gardens on St Croix, USVI. I don't know what the tall plant with huge leaves is. A pretty Hibiscus variety. End of the season of the flambouyant blossoms but still...

Currently 90° with a heat index of 95°. I'm relaxing on the verandah with a glass of Chardonnay. The heat brings out numerous wonderful creatures. I think this is an Admiral. Maybe @leafhead can confirm:

Sometimes I think that it is a good idea to make a splash in your garden by putting all your eggs in one basket, like this garden filled with lavender, I saw in Derbyshire yesterday. Or sometimes Primula, Inula, and Campanula make a blend ?
