Could go the other way too... I was never really fat, but I lost 10 pounds during my mystery illness, which might have been covid-19, earlier this year. Saw my ex-boyfriend in a parking lot, and he exclaims "Wow! You look really good!" (I looked quite sickly after puking my guts out for 4 weeks straight.) That was one more nail in the coffin of our former relationship!
