They can have some very nasty diseases deadly to people. I lived in a village that had a major duck farm. The local doctor was specially trained to recognise the bad ones like Infectious laryngotracheitis (ILT) which is a highly contagious viral respiratory infection from chickens, turkeys & ducks.
