I have made my peace with spiders. I either leave them be, or do a catch and release...depending on their size and where they are at the time. Out in my shop, it's more of a be on your way approach. In the house it's usually a relocation.

I had an enormous spider in a house I lived in. It had set itself up in a kitchen corner. Sometimes I watched it. Never bothered me.

I would have moved and gave the spider the house lol.

Two summers ago I had an Orb Weaver garden spider take up residence on a window in front of my table. I let it be and named it Georgie (not knowing if it was male or female). For weeks, I watched it catch flies and grow up as I sat at my table. One day as the weather was getting colder, it was just gone. I felt a little sad not knowing what happened to it.

i guess it can't really even see you? their focal length is something like two inches
