Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.Having worked for our Fish & Wildlife department I can say that the cost of the license is small BUT it is used to:
monitor how many people are fishing (legally),
give an approximation of what how much and which species are being caught,
and encourages those legally fishing to support conservation activities related to illegal/over fishing
