Two of my girls were Asian and I was astounded at how many people were abusive when they spoke their birth languages with friends. A couple have actually asked me how I can be sure they aren't talking about me or saying things behind my back and I'm like ... so? They're so intimidated about the possibility of being laughed at and it has nothing to do with the girls, it's in their own head. I'm (finally) seeing it less often with Spanish speakers here but it's still a ridiculous bias.
I'm really looking forward to seeing Ferrell's new movie/documentary. The previews have been good and it may even be uplifting which is a nice trend these days. And maybe it will open some minds up.
Another thing I just do not get, what are others doing that is hurting you? Then again certain media outlets live to tell people who and what to fear.
