Actually, God delegated lost object retrieval to St. Anthony. "Dear Saint Anthony, come around. Something's lost, and can't be found." was my mother's mantra as she searched the house for her keys. Kind of redundant, as "can't be found is the definition of "lost".
I'm not sure who the patron saint of athletic achievement is.
