There are people that say the 1950's was a great decade. It was for white males. Women, black people, Latinos, Asians and homosexuals didn't have it so good. Racism, bigotry and homophobia were rampant back then. There was no equal rights for most people.

Actually it goes back further...The slogan was used by the KKK during the 1920's when it was revived by the Methodist church and they were referring to the days before the civil war.... They still are...
@Captnron59 things are better than they were 70 years ago. There is a lot that still needs to be done.
