It alleviates a lot of awkward moments like gagging on people's bad breath or smelly armpits. I know a lot of huggy people and I'm happy to keep them at arm's length. I may keep these habits up longer than required.

I agree. As well as the new hygiene style, I am sure lost of people have not gotten sick due to all the new rules.

Assholes everywhere and the good part of the pandemic is I finally have an excuse to tell them to get the fuck away from me... People don't even consider me rude for doing it either...

That's why I was all into the Internet as soon as it was technically possible.
The long periods of isolation.
I remember using a 300 baud Radio Shack modem phone pre-world wide web which didn't come out until 1991.
I was using Archnet and I can see how those times created the hacker myth.
Everyone's a hacker. Except my Step Mom, I've shown her how to set the clock after a power outage like fifty times. Then I had an epiphany, this will never happen. The VCR still blinks 12:00 according to my brother, my last attempt to show her was 1987.
If she could just set the clocks on household appliances she would qualify as a hacker.
She's not a hacker...
But ALL you folks, HACKERS!
