What the parents don't realize is they party all the time before they leave. Sometimes they like the worldly way and sometimes they return home. Sometime the Amish Church exiles them, but then forgives them after a while and allows them back. They are a very weird group of of people, the Amish.

Yes, I have seen documentaries with them dancing with the snakes. It comes from some literal phrase in the Bible, something like plucking out your eye conceptually. Anyone who is normal would read it an realize somewhere the translation got lost.
