It's Christianities focus on blood that's responsible for legends about vampires.
To be sure other religions have similar fetishes but are presented in entirely different ways.

This blood fetish has millions sipping a micro shot of grape juice pretending it's blood every week.
Most of us just treated it like an old fad and just went along to keep the peace.
However in the pentecostal church I saw the taking of communion inspire the especially dramatic church members to flip out in the holy spirit.
