Sounds like you don't get retail work and the nonsense inherent in it. I bet you're the type of person who shows up 5 minutes before close with a laundry list of returns and special orders.
That sounded a bit condescending. Retail IS a tough business and despite the belief that it should only be a temporary job, there are many of us trapped in it for one reason or another.
Mine is insurance. As a cancer survivor in her 50s living in a small town, I don't dare give it up despite having a degree. A degree with entry level positions paying LESS than I currently earn
Nobody tells people in prestigious vocations they should change jobs when they complain but those of us in so called service jobs are told to quite often.
