Down here, Im told the policy is to be open during impending hurricanes until winds reach sustained 40mph
The governor called out retailers on the news and less than 2 hours later we were ordered to close last year.
Some stores were holding a pallet of water in the back for employees and somehow that fact ended up on facebook so corporate sent out orders that NO water was to be saved for employees.
Not only do they not the employees secure their homes until the last minute but we aren't permitted to have any supplies either.
I was so stressed after 2 years in a row dealing with putting up wood while not even home, that I refinanced my house to get out cash for hurricane shutters.
Sure I got other stuff done as well but that hurricane shit is what made me decide to do it.

Posted by AmiSueAh! Winter. When corporate lets you close the store only after the roads are closed.

Posted by AmiSueBy the skin of my teeth... My store is trashed. I was cussed at, yelled at, and disrespected in all manner of ways. We made the goddamn sales plan :)
