Not sure IF one wants to invest over 90 ms in this, but will throw it to the wolves...
My problem with Stewart is what he basically admits from the beginning of the chat. He was trapped in the redundant repetitiveness of infotainment as far as the political aspect of our society goes. Useless satire of the political arena that was being used to create some of the largest rabbit holes for followers to become trapped in. Mocking and denouncing the system and people within it, then when they were invited to his show it was used as a social op towards glorifying. I never looked back after the day he had Obama on.
I don't know this Joe Rogan well, as I'm skipping through this. But he blissfully makes my point as he speaks about how long it takes to create change. And it takes long periods of time to change because of the rabbit holes being created by people who do this. All MSCM outlets are guilty of this also. Then Stewart comes right back admitting that what's going on today isn't going to create change. Then speaks about leadership that he knows doesn't exist. He knows this because the leadership that controlled his show taught him that it's fine to go with satire one moment but when they're on the show it ends there. On show any sense of reality and confrontation will not be tolerated. It becomes the political elites moment to pull society back into the rabbit hole and to forget all the funny satire from before. Corporate agenda to create a sense of compliant followers.
The stuff he goes into soon after is all stuff he didn't dare go into on his show when political figures were on the show. I'd say Stewart simply got tired of being used and after having made enough money to survive on got out. Now he can spout off a sense of reality when someone chases him down to use him for their own notoriety. Maybe Stewart had a sense of guilt with honor but still needs to feed the ego that came after being propelled into public view. So now and then he gets out and makes some noticeable statements that memes can be made of him and can visit someone's show occasionally.
Good, bad, or ugly - I still miss his show.
