America’s severe trucker shortage could undermine the prosperous economy

This is the school I went to. TDDS is known to be one of the better places to the trucking industry for their drivers. They also teach diesel mechanics. If you know someone struggling to get a job it could be an option. Preferably young with a good head on their shoulders. A young couple even, trucking companies like a team in their trucks which helps to keep a truck moving most of the day. I also see a lot of upper age drivers today who have struggled through hard times since the 80's unable to save enough to retire. According to this article the companies are paying considerably better than when I started out OTR. But I imagine that depends on which company you go to also. Some of them have their own schools also. I will admit! It's not for everyone as far as over the road. Being an introvert would help a lot. You spend a lot of time by yourself during a 11/14 hour period outside of your stops and required breaks. I did it for 2 1/2 years and seen a lot of this beautiful country. I've been through 47 of the 48 mainland states and it's something I highly enjoyed. I take that back. I fucking hated New Jersey! I got lost every time I went into that dam state within the bigger cities. 🙂 But hey, there's always a challenge to what ever it is we do. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I could go on for quite a while on this issue. O yea. A while back Covenant put out an article also. They were offering a $20,000 sign on bonus for any team willing to hire on. It's been a few months but might be worth looking into if you're already driving and looking for a change.
