Trying to Isolate China is a Failing U.S. Strategy
Yea, I don't know where to go with this. I think it's safe to say China still owns a fairly large chunk of America via bonds. And has a fairly good stranglehold on our corporations that have moved there. With that also the technology in many cases that came with those corporations. Pissing them off might not be a good place to go. We allowed our government to put us in a position of needing them more than them needing us. East of the Mississippi is NY and west of is NJ? Trump thinks we are now a 2 state nation? Where his world is buy the local politicians then file for bankruptcy, get the tax payers to fund a large amount of your cost in properties. These aren't corrupt New England politicians Pence and Trump are dealing with. So I can only refer back to my original line of thought. It's all a stage show? This isn't 1941 where we had an industrial advantage of switching over to war products in a blink of an eye. Do we have the capacity and technological advantage we had in those days? We supposedly have a employment problem in the technological field. Hows that work if we go to war with China? Hows that work when we now rely on so many of our products coming from China. Maybe I don't get this, but it seems to me China is in a position to fuck us up in a heart beat if they wanted. If this shit is real, I get a picture of Xi going to bed each night laughing his ass off at us and sleeping quite well.
My guess is the U.S. is trying to get some leverage on the Chinese in terms of oil and gas. I don't think it's going to happen because Russia and China won't let that happen. The Chinese get most of their oil from the Russians, Saudi Arabia (ironically), Iran, and a few others. China is actually slated to buy a lot of oil from the U.S. too. They currently buy about $3b worth from the U.S. Steve Mnuchin thinks they can sell them upwards of $40b to $50b worth though. That would surpass the $20b worth that Russia sells them by double to more than double.
I would imagine that Venezuela plays a big part of oil here also. A large part of their debt is to China from Chavez's time. Which is due to the price fall from when the Saudi's flooded the market a few years back.
