4 Reasons the Corporate Media Refuses to Talk About Things That Matter
And how we can restore to America a rational media landscape
While I likeThom Hartmann and learned a lot from him over my time on the road, he can be a shrill talk for the democrats. But he paints a good portrait of our main stream media in this piece. Doing a rather great job of what I often have tried to spell out here. If You ever have watched MSNBC in any length at night, you'll know exactly what he means about the same few issues all day long. Full of half truths if any truth, and really learning very little towards the whole issue.
Good article and since I'm running late here's just one point:
"For example, on January 3, the House of Representatives passed one of the most sweeping political reform bills since the Nixon era, including automatic voter registration, 15 days of nationwide early voting, and an end to gerrymandering. Not to mention a totally revolutionary code of ethics for the Supreme Court.
But was there any coverage of these details—or even of the bill itself—in the media? Even though there’s no way it would pass the Senate, it’s worthy of discussion and debate."
IMHO - The people who own the media do not even want to know about this or the debate as it is a corporate/wealthy owned gop that will vote it down. They media is not interested in educating the public and the wealthy do not want it known who they are buying out in our government. We all speculate but the media owners DO NOT want the truth getting out.
