@altschmerz I applaud their effort but I think that ship sailed some time ago. The urgency now is how are we humans going to react when the crisis affects our daily lives. I predict within 50 years, we will start going feral and hopefully about 200 years after that the planet will begin to recover, maybe the next iteration of homo sapiens will have some history to learn from. Of course, homo sapiens in 200 years will probably not even be recognizable by us. But I digress.
@altschmerz You may be right. Do you know the saying I wish I was 10/20/30/? years younger and knew what I know now? I hope I'm reincarnated (Buddhism) after Mother Earth recovers, if she ever does with the memory of what we're doing now.
@LetzGetReal I guess I mean when it affects us in our wallets. Or somehow affects our children. I'm watching Antarctica melt, polar bears drown, fish being suffocated, all the images they show on the news. I'm now immune to the flooding, the massive hurricanes, the droughts and the heat, I live in the desert where the summer heat now drives me to go north. But, I still drive an 8-cylinder truck to pull my fifth-wheel trailer, just like millions of others. I recycle, turn off lights when I leave a room, conserve water knowing my one little effort won't make a dent in what's going on around the globe. It will take a MASSIVE effort of the government and industry to at least just stop what's happening right now, and I don't believe there will not be any recovery of the environment in our lifetime.
