People always also glance over the economy manipulation that the U.S., Saudi Arabia, and there was one other article I read with another country have carried out over the years. Although, Venezuela did put most of their eggs in one basket by not diversifying away from just oil.

I remember the other country. It's Guyana, but they had help from the U.S. and Exxon about a border dispute about the Orinoco basin. Rex Tillerson, who was the Secretary of State under Trump, was heavily involved in the dispute. People will see that and think it's only Trump's administration that manipulated Venezuela, but it's actually been more than just one. It's been going on for decades and it's by both parties.
