Proof the Earth is Flat | FYI
ChestRockfield comments on Aug 6, 2022:
That reads like satire. It's also a site that pays by performance, not product, so it could just be intentional to try to go viral. Flat Earthers are stupid as fuck, for sure, but they're just not a thing I worry about. There are a ton of Republicans that are actively ruining our lives and taking our freedoms. I wish they were all distracted by the shape of the Earth; they sure are dumb enough to be taken by something that stupid.
Very accurate

Yeah, I love eggs, but I can't fuck with them right now. If they drop to about $2 every couple weeks I scoop up a dozen, but it's hard. Within the past couple years I was buying a dozen eggs for a low as $0.25 from the Aldi on the more rural side of me (I think there's a lot of people with chickens causing competing maybe?) And I'd love to boycott Whole Foods, but I've literally never bought a single thing from that store.

It kind of does, though. If a company is willing to pay X dollars for employee benefits, and suddenly 10% more employees are allowed to claim benefits for their spouses and children, that very well could result in a reduction of benefits for them. More importantly the CEOs and shareholders don't want to pay out any money they don't have to, and luckily they have millions of idiot Republican voters that are always stupid enough to vote against their own interests and support the fascist Republican overlords. Same goes for equal voting rights. If the will of the people was actually granted to all citizens equally, Republicans would have a much more difficult time winning elections and fucking people over.

ChestRockfield comments on Nov 21, 2022:
I don't think it's the values that Democrats hold that's the problem. Democrats want things that would be good for Republicans collectively: clean water, clean air, affordable housing, affordable healthcare, affordable education, but Republicans are stupid, and stupid people are easy to trick into voting against their own best interests. They take a few issues and blow them out of proportion and get people to act on those alone. Mix in some misogyny, racism, and voter suppression, and you have a party that can compete with a party that has platform ideas with overwhelming support. I mean, we're talking about a party with people *so* fuckin' stupid, they wear shirts that read "I'd rather be a Russian than a Democrat" which would be relinquishing the one thing those cretins can't ever seem to shut the fuck up about, even though they apparently don't know what it is: freedom. But as long as they can have their guns (which are statistically more likely to harm their own) and keep taxes low on rich people (because apparently all those morons think they're going to be rich soon) then that's the party for them regardless of any of the other bad shit.

Crypto has real-world applications and solves actual problems like runaway inflation unlike all that bullshit with unregulated bundling of shit loans and bribing people to give them AAA ratings. If you honestly think those motherfuckers care about the security of your loans or investments in any way, you're delusional. They are obviously more than happy to burn some shit to the ground if they think they can make a quick buck in the process at your expense. Crypto at least is decentralized without a small cabal pulling strings and plotting to fuck you over. This is not the end of crypto. ChestRockfield comments on Dec 26, 2022:
It's completely nonsensical. At least prayer to the Christian conception of God, who, in their definition, is all knowing. The Five Laws Of Stupidity [youtu.be]
ChestRockfield comments on Dec 31, 2022:
This is the same dumb-ass shit Frayedbear always posts. After looking into Cipolla, it seemed like a joke (contrary to what the narrator of the video thinks). IF he was joking, then people shouldn't be quoting it as if it were a serious theory. If he wasn't joking, then he was a fuckin' idiot and people shouldn't be quoting it. But in either case, anyone who thinks these are good arguments is a fuckin' idiot. Enjoy... These are Cipolla's five fundamental laws of stupidity: 1. Always and inevitably everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation. *Patently false, though anyone who knows anything about the word 'always' wouldn't be dumb enough to make this claim. There are, inevitably, people who think ALL humans are stupid, thus, it is impossible that EVERYONE underestimates the number of stupid people because there can't be a number higher than all.* 2. The probability that a certain person (will) be stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person. *Again, false. There are obviously characteristics that would increase the probability that a person is stupid. I shouldn't need to go into this. For instance, if you find out that a person averaged 4 car accidents a year with stationary objects every year since they started driving, do you really think there is not even a slightly higher probability they're stupid?* 3. A stupid person is a person who causes losses to another person or to a group of persons while himself deriving no gain and even possibly incurring losses. *Not only is it not stupid to cause losses to another person / other people who are enemies, it's actually quite smart especially if the person is your enemy through no fault of your own and/or the potential loss you would incur is not something you value highly.* 4. Non-stupid people always underestimate the damaging power of stupid individuals. In particular non-stupid people constantly forget that at all times and places and under any circumstances to deal and/or associate with stupid people always turns out to be a costly mistake. *Again, the 'always' with this guy, and he really doubled down this time with two 'always' an 'all times' and a 'constantly'. Look, there's a very easy way to disprove this one. Stupid people buy houses, too. If realtors refused to deal with them, they'd all be losing out on all the commission from their purchases. So in fact, the exact opposite would be true: it would be a costly mistake not to deal with them. This "law" also assumes that you always have a choice who to deal with when you have to deal with someone. That, of course, is also false.* 5. A stupid person is the most dangerous type of person. *Patently false. A smart person who wishes to cause harm is obviously more dangerous than a...

The vast majority of that sounded like the ramblings of a schizophrenic. And in the end what did he say, really? He redefined what the phrase "belief in God" means in a manner that virtually no one would be able to use it, then said it doesn't apply to him (as it wouldn't apply to anyone). That, to me, is akin to saying nothing. Not sure what the "good points" were that you took away with you... I was hoping the pronouns bit was in here. I used to say I was about as liberal as one could be, but I can't say that anymore. I hate that any of that is even aligned with a political party/platform because of how much unintended harm it's causing. Everything in our political system is zero sum, so when you spend political capital on stuff like that, you don't have it when you really need it. If liberals had been hardline‐sensible-policy would Republicans have won in '16? Would they have a supermajority on the SCOTUS? Would women be unnecessarily dying IN HOSPITALS because of anti-abortion laws? Just a couple weeks ago someone got pissed at me on here and blocked me because I called out the extreme stupidity of Democrats in Congress spending their last few days in power enacting a law about big cat ownership. A law that *maybe* affects one in a million Americans while tens of millions of American women of child-bearing age have lost their reproductive rights. It's idiotic shit like that that costs them votes. Do I think that the arguments that stuff like this causes people to vote against the Democrats make sense? No, but that doesn't stop the loss of the vote.

I agree with the comments below, but I will add that, just like almost everything else these days, it seems like there may be a bit of over-correction on this. I've been accused of mansplaining when it was simply just a case of explaining something that was being misunderstood. The other situation has also happened where a female doctor who can't get enough of calling out mansplaining (which to be fair, she has probably encountered a lot of discrimination) doctorsplained something to me that as a veteran nurse of almost 20 years was a very elementary task. The sex/gender of the person giving and receiving the X-plaining is largely irrelevant. Either you're being a rude asshole or you're not, so to label it as a sex/gender thing is silly in my opinion.

I wonder what humans who are starving to death and need medical attention think of stories like this... https://www.chron.com/houston/article/Thomas-Houston-dog-This-Is-Houston-animal-rescue-14948004.php#photo-18832240
One could almost believe this if Trump paid his bills

This is what he tells the grocery store clerks he hits on to explain why he's using food stamps and doesn't have a job/ lives in his mother's basement. It never works.

Okay, this is cool as fuck and completely mesmerizing if you keep the phrase "as tall as 14 EARTHS" in your head when you watch it.

ChestRockfield comments on Mar 30, 2023:
I'm convinced Republicans love fetuses, but then when they see what they turn into, children, they want them all dead. It's the only way to reconcile their stances on abortion and guns. That or Republicans are stupid fucking assholes.
Do you know why there was never a coup in the United States? Because there is no US embassy there.
ChestRockfield comments on Mar 30, 2023:
It would be funny if there wasn't literally a coup attempt 2 years ago.

We do have tons of morons walking around in red hats that try to discredit intelligent, normal people and gaslight everybody by claiming our rational reaction to a traitor like Trump is somehow *our* problem.
It's The Hypocrisy That Gets Me
ChestRockfield comments on Apr 1, 2023:
Republicans are the most hypocritical motherfuckers around. They tout their love of law and order until it is a Republican that would get burned by law and order. Fuck them all.
