I just moved from Montana to Texas, so I have been seeing all sorts of critters that are new to me! One of my favorites is this monster fishing spider! It's about 2". They don't make spiders this big in Montana!

I'll probably be posting quite a bit, as I discover new critters everyday! I found this Antheraea polyphemus (polyphemus moth) in sad shape. I don't know much about their lifespan, but it seemed to be nearing the end of it. Still, it's beautiful!

Three beautiful snakes from this weekend's fishing trip. A big Nerodia watersnake that I moved off the road. A gartersnake that was startled along the creek. A neonate Nerodia that was hunting minnows underwater.
