So this happened. A tired butterfly and hungry anole. I fed the butterfly some honey and my son captured the anole. Butterfly gets to live another day? p.s. my friend the parks naturalist came over and she said the butterfly is likely a newly emerged...

My buck moth (Hemileuca maia) caterpillars are halfway grown. Typically scrub oak feeders, they are doing great on scarlet oak. In fact, they're at the point now that they can cause painful stings and welts if handled carelessly.
