This litte sweetie hung out on my head for a couple hours the other night! And was taking a snooze the next morning!! They're so gentle and beautiful!! I want to say its a N. American Walking Stick. Does anyone know for sure???

It's 0330 and I'm fading fast! Mothman and I took a ride to Weiser State Forest in the Poconos to set up lights for Papaipema sp. moths. We had no luck at all with the Papaipemas, but we had great times black lighting for caterpillars! I saw more ...

The adult is a fairly plain-looking brown moth, but these Turbulent Phosphila caterpillars are stunning larvae. Now is the time to find them--they're greenbrier feeders, so keep your eyes peeled off you have any greenbrier around.
