I just collected 5 more Monarch caterpillars from the garden. This makes a total of seven with a loss of two. Hope to have better luck with these guys

We had some crazy rain and hail storms yesterday and this little hackberry emporer butterfly took a beating in the adverse weather. It didn't fly off when I got it to step up on my finger so I offered it a drop of the best soda ever (Moxie!) to perk...

A big Prionid beetle that caused an even bigger fuss at work! Panicky co-workers came to get me because there was a huge "cockroach" in the waiting room. It was just this guy, a native root-boring beetle, who was probably attracted to the lights ...
