I don't believe I have shared pics of my beautiful girl, Akasha. She is a Dumeril's Boa (Dwarf boa). Although she is girthy, she is only 6 ft long. I estimate her to weigh about 20 lbs. She is a ground boa and prefers a dryer habitat so there are no ...

I admit that while I have an affinity for the less popular members of the animal kingdom, probably more so because I don't have a tolerance for fear based on ignorance, I have my limits. This is where I draw the line. If anybody can give me a good ...

We have THE best bug wall at work! I see lots of mantises, walking sticks, etc... on it. This week, it's been mostly cicadas, post egg laying or mating. Today, I was able to camera "catch" this sphynx moth: Xylophenes tersa, I believe.

One more. I found this poor guy in the middle of an active logging site. Fearing for his safety, I found him a new home. It is at a christian retreat/camp, but he doesn't seem to mind being baptised.
