SD Gov. Demands Politicians Actions ‘Line Up’ with the Word of God

During an appearance on Christian Nationalist David Brody’s “Real America’s Voice Network,” South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem demanded that the actions of politicians need to “line up with the word of God.” She also bragged about the many ways in which she has injected things like “God and prayer” into her state’s public schools, while at the same time forbidding COVID mask mandates, adding that “we in South Dakota have decided to take action to really stand for biblical principles.”

So, let me get this straight, Gov. Noem won't let school children wear masks to protect themselves from COVID, because that’s government intrusion, but she plans to enact legislation forcing kids to pray in public? Now, while I don’t agree with her, I get where she’s coming from. I’m sure she feels - it’s the “Reich” thing to do.

Gee, wonder if anyone mentioned to her that forcing everyone to be governed by “Biblical principles,” would also mean enforcing things like Biblical prohibitions against eating pork and wearing clothing made of mixed fibers? Oh well, sounds like this could pretty much mean the end of bacon cheeseburgers and cotton/polyester apparel in South Dakota. Damn shame too! Just when the sale of leisure suits was really starting to take off again there.

Well, one thing she ought to be happy about, is that with Republican opposition to any meaningful legislation on climate change, it’s a pretty sure bet our climate will definitely be going “Biblical” real soon. Now, I’m not the slightest bit religious, but if I were a resident of South Dakota and in possession of an IQ that was in the triple digits, I believe I’d be “praying” real hard to find the fastest way possible - to get the hell out of South Dakota.
