As I work through another Labor Day weekend, I'm forced to reflect on the struggle of the working class. It's not enough just to remember the labor movement, we must reinvigorate it, and take it even further than before. We must rebuild our economy and society from the bottom up. We must actually make a change in what way we can. Therefore, I am pledging to donate all tips received today and tomorrow (I'm a delivery driver), to go to the U.S Federation of Worker Cooperatives. I encourage you all to do whatever you can this Labor Day to make some change.
Edit: I'm also running a fundraiser on Facebook for this, under the Democracy at Work Institute, their parter organization.

I think the simultaneous and sustained assaults on the free press and on education are why so many working class people now support the oppressors. It is disheartening, but our only viable option is to keep working to expose the lies and manipulative oppression tactics for what they are.
You know I blame fundamentalist religion squarely for impairing so many people's basic reasoning skills (faith being elevated to supreme virtue), providing such a juicy target of electorate to be duped into voting against their own economic self-interest.
