It’s a Big Week in San Francisco! Yesterday the city was inundated with over 30,000 people from all over the state and the country marching to Rise for Climate, Jobs and Justice. The week features more direct actions and events geared to challenge and provide alternative solutions to climate chaos than the top-down corporate solutions likely to be presented at hypocrite Jerry Brown’s Global Climate Action Summit. Cap and trade merely allows the status quo to continue while turning frontline communities, those most affected by continuation of fossil fuel extraction, transport and refining, into sacrifice zones.
