With a Republican-led Senate unlikely to convict Trump, he argued, the only way to “end this nightmare and to send Mr. Trump packing is to vote the bums out of office ... If we don't impeach him, what does that say to future Congresses and presidents about whether this kind of conduct is compatible with office? And by the same token, if we do impeach him, and he's acquitted in the Senate, and there is an adjudication that that conduct is not impeachable, that may be a worse precedent.
What are your thoughts for & against impeachment?
I say hold hearings, supeona everything, expedite appeals to the courts, impose draconian fines for failure to comply and keep it going until he is ready to resign, or the Senate demands he resign.
I hope all of that happens.
Read the damn report... there's no actual crime! I know most of you are nutbag far leftists and will hate me for it... but there's no crime committed. Impeachment only plays into the far left's narrative of "I hate Trump and he's guilty because CNN said so for 2 years".
Before you start sending your hate mail and comments... I don't even like Trump... but this impeachment talk is just BULLSHIT! Read the fucking report! You bet all your chips he would be guilty... and you lost! Time to STFU!
I reada the part of the report that is available, there are at least 10 cases of obstruction, and Trump was the unindicted cocospiritor for committing felonies which other people went to prison for. And that does not include the redacted parts that are far more serious and deal with his treason.
I think exposing his crimes to the voting public would be enough to get him and many congressmen and Senators out of office for a very long time. Then convict and jail him and the family and cohorts in public courts.
Impeachment is useless with this Senate of co-conspirators
I agree, yet hope to know when that will happen.
@AnonySchmoose
They have to have evidence first and no one is talking or bringing the evidence to them so it looks like contempt charges and court dates are what we're waiting for now
Keep up the investigations and lay everything bare: for the public and for state prosecutors when he gets booted out.
Any process that DOES NOT remove Trump from office is UNACCEPTABLE! To go thru the entire impeachment process and end up with him still in office to do more damage is ABSURD!
Quite logical.
Mitch mc bitch is a living turd, he won't impeach and a trump victory would be unhelpful. Can they censure him for something?
Leave impeaching until all ducks are in a row then bring it.
I agree a trump victory may very well play to his supporters. I like the duck idea, but do we know what that is exactly?
@AnonySchmoose money laundering on a massive scale would be my best guess
@Tooreen What made you think that, if I may inquire?
@AnonySchmoose russian mob buying trump properties at inflated prices. Gets the money to America, the trail should be easier to follow as he repays them. Someone somewhere has it on a ledger, again its a guess. He was broke, no credit in America. He goes to russia and violla he's a great buissness man
@Tooreen That is plausible. He has made an alliance with Russian oligarchs (and with Kim Jong-un and Mohammad bin Salman). It appears he is definitely aiming for absolute power. Therefore, his goal is to be a dictator like the others with whom he is allied. He's going about it exactly like other dictators have done.
Republican Senate wouldn't impeach even with clear evidence of being a traitor
I do agree that is what they've been doing all along.
The concern of future ramifications seems valid, but it would not likely stand alone.
He would likely escape, but it would also likely be at a huge expense to his cohorts during their reelections. This cost would be affiliated with the precedent.
We can hope his escape from impeachment would harm the Republican senators, but how would we make sure that his escape would harm them? The game has seemed to be: anything goes and no one will get hurt. Would really like to know.
People aren't stupid. The population sees the slow, but evident, enslavement by corporate oligopies.
WARNING. This may come off as a tangent, but it is relative. It will relate back.
From perceiving olligopies as organisms a larger picture can be considered.
Corporations feed on money. Humans provide money with harvesting their labor and resources.
Should the olligopie become a virus, the population will resist it to a point of immunity.
In the case of the Trump virus, Yes he gets away. But, the corporate virus losses in the long run.
The population will evolve a new way to end the virus. It may be the case, eventually, the population changes it's judicial system to rid the corporate landscape of attorneys. In this case the U.S. would have a judicial system which is more likened to the U.K.. With this, the blade of corporate douchebags is dulled.
