Are you with Chase bank? Put your money where your values are. Look for a local credit union who is a member of GABV-Global Alliance for Banking on Values. gabv.org

Buy the stock. Shareholders can cause trouble for those who deserve it.

When I used to live and work in Florida, I used the "California Credit Union". About a year after I joined, it was bought out by Bank of America. That was over 30 years ago, but never had a reason to change.

In my experience the only bank that treated me like a person was Key Bank. I started a business with them and they helped all the way. When things got tough and we went out of business I did everything they wanted, which I was able to dictate. When I was done the manager shook my hand and offered that if I ever wanted to do it again he would assure I got the loan. Other than this I find that Banks think the money you place with them is theirs, and it is their rule to keep as much as they can with fees and charges. I have used a Credit Union for over thirty years and have never had a problem. I once had a car loan with Chase and there was no way I could make a payment on time. It did not matter when the payment was made, I was told they could hold the funds for up to twenty days before they applied it to the loan.

Thanks for the heads up! I dislike my current bank, Wells Fargo, but didn't know where to do my banking, for a true improvement.
I'll do some googling; due to health issues, I can't travel, so need a flexible, completely online bank.

Always at the local credit union. Many local banks are even controlled, if not owned, by a few major "money lenders."
