For the past few weeks, I've been using my manual wheelchair, instead of the electric, which immediately made my muscles ache as they had not done much for many years. Yesterday, I decided to start walking again, and it feels great. I'm still dependent on a chair; weaning myself off the chair may take a month or so, I hope. Of course, my weight is still high, about 325, and my right knee is a bit stressed so must be careful not to overdo it. And, losing more weight is essential. Cannot wait till I can push my electric mower around the yard.

Excellent! Keep at it, you will get to that mower pushing soon enough. People often think of mowing as an unpleasant chore that they have to take care of but when it is something you can't do, it gains a certain enchantment. Good luck, keep it up!

In the past it was a chore to me. Sometimes people change.

Sounds like you're getting younger! Kudos!

That sounds like real progress. Weaning yourself off the chair altogether would be a great achievement - don't try and do it too quickly - setbacks are really disheartening. If you can continue to make this progress you will be an example to us all!

Posted by JonnaBononnaI had finally gotten back on track after gaining back most of the weight I lost a couple of years ago.

Posted by JurneeI have to say, as an overweight karate instructor, this is the one patch that I was ok with never getting.
