I turned on alerts for posts in this group. It is odd that comments and replies were on, but not posts. If you have a reasonable objection to this action, please comment. Oddly enough, comments in BO were causing alerts, but posts were not. Also odd, there is a control to prevent post alerts, but nono for comments and replies.
There's no posts because Battling Obesity is tough to admit - and as I've shown you and others often...it's an epidemic in this nation....but it's one that many ignore or look the other way.
Kudos to you, Ed, for facing this and doing battle...
Here's the GIF....
and here's Slate's take on the CDC news. Find the original CDC post inside the article;
There are a dew oosts each day in BO. I imagine most everyone knows about the obesity epidemic. Unfortunately ppl blme themselves, when the real cukp9are the food industry who feed us poor quality foods laden with fat, sugar and salt.
The point is not to "blame" the point is to act, or not act, on your condition.
And the solution is three fold; change in diet, change in exercise, and change in lifestyle.
Awareness breeds action.
Blaming breeds inaction,
@Robecology Many feel they cannot change, but it's not true.
Actually, alert settings are used for individual members... Changing your alert settings doesn't affect others...
Groups also have three alert settings. When off, group posts, comments and replies do not cause alerts. It is part of the group privacy control.
@EdEarl can you provide a screenshot of these options you're referring to? Cause if it's not in the moderator / host menu, it doesn't affect the whole group...
@Cutiebeauty Have recently started using my cell, an Android OS, instead of a laptop. It may be possible, but IDK how yet. Will work on it. My laptop died, and do not intend to get another. Though, I do miss the keyboard.
On my screen, I touch the three horizontal bars that open the Group menu, then select "Edit Alerts." Oh, my mistake. The options are to turn on/off "posts" "joins" and "events".

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
